Environmental Sustainability & Indigenous Relationships

Uniwide Drilling Co. Ltd. acknowledges that we are located on the traditional unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh and acknowledge the Indigenous ancestral lands of all the communities we serve across British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and the NWT. We work closely with Indigenous partners and community members to cultivate positive working relationships to ensure accountability and respectful practices towards the environment and to collaborate towards effective protocols and policies that ensure environmental sustainability.

It is our core belief that environmental harm is preventable through good communication, cooperation and timely solution management. Through using tools in our management system, engaging all personnel in the pre-planning of every task and maintaining a continual focus on the task at hand we work towards preventing environmental harm. Additionally, we operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

Our Commitment to the Environment & Community:

  • Integrate and consider environmental concerns and impacts into all our decision-making activities.
  • Promote environmental awareness among all our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner.
  • Train, educate, and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work.
  • Purchase and use innovative and environmentally friendly products in all areas of our operations, including in our drill rigs and line of support trucks.
  • Inform and educate our team on the history of the lands we service.
  • Empower our team to create safe and equitable working environments based on respect, cooperation, diversity and inclusion.
  • Promote positive working relationships with Indigenous peoples and community partners.
  • Continually recognize and reflect on any potential collective and/or individual impacts of our activities on the community.

When it comes to our responsibility to the environment and community, we can't afford to rest on our achievements. We recognize the need for further improvement and we continue to strive towards operating more efficiently and responsibly every day.
